Singing Tree Chardonnay - Goldschmidt Vineyards

This Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley in California is medium to light straw in color. Aromas of ripe melon mingle with hints of lemon, gun flint and wet stone along with a subtle starfruit character. The minimal oak show hints of fresh ground nutmeg to support the structure and provide complexity.

Vintage Notes:

2021 was one of the longest ripening seasons for the past two decades. Seasons are starting earlier due to lack of water in the soil and the early warm spring temperature, but even out with the cooling trend that comes on in veraison in August. However, there was the heat spike over Mother's Day weekend which restricted the berry expansion. Yields were lighter with small berries and small clusters. This made this Chardonnay bright, fresh and full flavored.
