Honest Weight, Oxbow, and TRVE Brewing Tasting

These beers are made for drinking, and we'd probably drink them all on our own if we didn't have to share.  We're pulling brews from MA, ME, and CO.  Honest Weight is making it's premiere in our store, and we're featuring A Pattern Language and Roman Mars.

Honest Weight Brewing is based out of Orange, MA. Yes, that is a real town, and they're dedicated to making great farmhouse beers. A Pattern Language  is a Sour Farmhouse Ale fermented with pureed plums and hopped with locally grown hops from Four Star Farms in Northfield, MA.  Roman Mars  is a "Bière de Mars", a subgroup of "Bière de Garde" (literally beer for keeping) that is brewed in the colder months of the year.  This is a red wine barrel aged beer conditioned with Brettanomyces.  Listen, if you don't buy this, I will, because it is delicious. 

Oxbow Brewing is based in Newcastle, ME, and they take their rural roots to heart, crafting beers that are true old world takes on the old world beer styles. We've had many of their fine beers on our shelves before, but this time around, we're opening Catalyst and Punch Brook. The first is a mixed fermentation farmhouse ale brewed with estate honey, and Punch Brook is a recent release, an unfiltered farmhouse refermented with mixed cultures and aged on raspberries in stainless steel tanks with their house lager Luppolo as the base beer.

Last, and certainly one of my favorite breweries in the store is TRVE Brewing. These heavy metal aficionados make fantastic farmhouse and mixed fermentation beers. This time around we're pouring Curseda mixed culture sour pale ale, and Life's Trade which is without a doubt one of my favorite beers of all time, a traditional farmhouse beer that has been fermented in wine puncheons.  

These fresh beers will have us singing, and we'll be pouring them from 5-7. Join us.
