The Loire Valley might be France’s most exciting wine region just because you always feel like there’s more to find, more unique pockets of vignerons doing something that you’ve never seen before. This month we take you to Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny in Touraine where Domaine des Huards has been producing the best Remorantin in the world since 1846. This little region, located just south of Orleans and just inland from Sancerre in Centre, produces some seriously elegant wines that show a lot of finesse, balance, and structure. The Gendrier family, proprietors of the domaine, make my favorite wines from the region. For the red’s they focus on Pinot Noir and Gamay, and for the whites they specialize in Remorantin, a relative of Chardonnay with minerality and intensity that reminds many of Chablis. These white and red’s are giving and alive and you’re going to love it. They’ll be on sale all month at 10% off so you can experience great and rare Loire wines at the best price.
