Bacco's Wine + Cheese and Bacco's Fine Foods (our sister store, literally next door) are conveniently located at the heart of Back Bay. Bob will share his knowledge and info, especially on his simple wine rating system, developed over 25 years of experience in the industry. Our selection process is a group effort. It starts with tasting wine after wine after wine—a tough job, we know, but someone's got to do it! We look at things like color, aromas, taste, food compatibility, and most important, value. Bacco's team is a blend of varied experience in the wine and food industries with a touch of individual palates. We are as unique as you, our customers, which makes for a great bouquet of wine styles.
And we do have a system!
The Wine Guy System breaks wines down into three categories. First is Wine Guy Value: These wines represent a good value, no matter the price. Then we have Wine Guy Best Buy: Everybody looks for more bang for their wine buck, and we think they deserve it. Finally there is the Wine Guy Favorite: It is simple—it is a wine that Bob really likes.
Like life, wine goes with good food to stir up conversations with friends and family around the table. You don't need an occasion—just stop by and we'll set it up for you.
Our beer selection might not be as large as others but there is always something for everyone. At times, we might be a little heavy on IPAs to please the hophead in you or we might cross the pond and invade the continent. You will always find some kind of Belgian or Belgian-style, since it has always been one of Bob’s favorites, and hey, he’s the boss. That said, the locals always get their due!
As with wine, we always try new things, so if something disappears, just think of it as though it were on vacation—it has to come back to work sometime.
Our cheese selection is constantly changing, because we are always on the lookout for new and different items. Of course, we have stalwarts that always find their way back into the case, but our goal is to offer you best variety. Some weeks we indulge in triple creams; some weeks we go goat-happy. Emilie, our cheese wiz, is constantly bringing in new cheeses to sample with the Bacco's team and with you—we go through a lot of calories. Just like with wine and beer, at Bacco's, it is a group effort to find the best for you!
Please feel free to ask us to try anything that intrigues you—that's if we've not already offered you a taste or two. We encourage you to try—actually, we insist! We have at least one or two featured cheeses out to taste every day to go with the wine samples we offer.
We don’t live by wine and cheese alone, so send in the cured meats! Bacco's selection will fill anybody's craving for cured meat: prosciutto, jamon, salame, and more! We carry a variety of pâtés and mousses, duck breast, confit and foie gras. As with our other items, we keep a few favorites in our larder almost all the time and then mix things up based on new and tasty treats that people have shared with us—seasonal delicacies, requests and suggestions from you, our valued customers.

Stop by after work—at Bacco's every day is tasting day between 5 and 7 PM, and on Saturdays, we live it up from 2 to 7PM. We open up at least a couple of bottles from our carefully curated selection to share. Beer lovers, we haven't forgotten about you—Tuesdays are dedicated to craft beer tastings.
